Zlatni Vez (Golden Embroidery) has been maintaining the family tradition of handmade embroidery of traditional Montenegrin costumes for over 50 years. They follow the original way of embroidery, as shown by the older generations, using fine materials and golden thread. Zlatni Vez produces fashion accessories (e.g. embroidered belts and scarves) inspired by local traditions and arts, standing as a link between cultural heritage and modern fashion.
Zlatni Vez’s work to preserve the cultural heritage and history of Montenegro is linked to the digitisation of flower embroidery patterns from folk costumes. The creative part of the workshop is dedicated to making ritual gifts inspired by gold embroidery. We also organize workshops to introduce the process of making folk costumes and bring this aspect of cultural heritage closer to the general public, emphasizing the participation of women in this tertiary art.
