The NGO Montemisija was founded in 2007 with the aim of popularizing, maintaining, and valorizing cultural heritage in the territory of Montenegro. Montemisija operates within the territory of Montenegro and can establish offices outside its headquarters, both within Montenegro and abroad, in accordance with the decision of the Assembly.
The main activities of the Montemisija NGO are based on educational and protective efforts to preserve the authenticity and material and spiritual individuality of our people, as reflected through cultural heritage, whether in the form of material or spiritual remnants. The preservation of cultural heritage involves various operations and interventions, which primarily include physical actions, but also address educational, social, cultural, and economic needs. They aim to improve the physical and non-physical environment through documentation and appropriate reuse of existing sites. The digitization of cultural heritage and support for its economic exploitation are activities crucial for sustainable development, which is the intention of our NGO. The implementation of smart technology and more efficient integration of modern methods play a major role in documenting, archiving, preserving, securing, and restoring cultural heritage monuments.
