The cultural association “Archilochos” was founded in 1976 in Paros. Sections of the Association are: a) The chorus b) The Film Club. c) The Environmental Team. d) The theatrical team d) Walkers. e) The photographic team f) Literature team g) Team of major institutional events (folk festival, Christmas bazaar, various exhibitions and conferences). “Archilochos” with its action became one of the most active Associations of the Cyclades. The action of “Archilochos” motivated the Municipality of Paros and operated the Municipal School of Music with very important results for culture on the island. In 2023, at the initiative of the environmental group, the Movement for the Free Beaches of the island was organized. The movement took on national and pan-European dimensions and resulted in Archilochos receiving, in 2024, from EUROPA NOSTRA, the great pan-European Costas Carras Award (silver award). From 2023, annual dry-stone workshops are held in order to highlight and preserve the dry stone walls of the island. In association with the Institute for archaeology of Paros and the Cyclades organize international conferences about the protection of the Ancient marble queries and the historical heritage of Paros and Cyclades.
