Posted on: April 14, 2024 , Category: Past Events

The Delphi Economic Forum held its 9th Annual Meeting from 10 April to 13 April 2024 in the ancient town of Delphi, in Greece. During four days, the forum will gather global stakeholders from the fields of Politics, Business, Diplomacy, and Civil Society.

The forum revolved around six key themes: Geopolitics, the Planet; Sustainable Economy & Finance, Global Future, Education, and People. Speeches, roundtable discussions, debates, and networking opportunities were accessible to all attendees, with the aim of sparking dialogue, inspiring change, and transforming conversation into action.

Europa Nostra and Elliniki Etairia co-hosted four events at the Delphi Economic Forum 2024.

Among these events, the panel “Accelerating Untapped Potential of our Shared Heritage” took place. The panel discussion highlighted that our shared cultural heritage provides a still untapped potential for building the much needed bridges between the citizens and institutions of the EU Member States and the candidate states from the Western Balkans. Special focus was given to the vital role of cities and civil society organisations to mobilise citizens and their communities, not only in their own cities and regions but also across borders, in collaboration with neighbouring countries.

Participants: Haris Doukas, Mayor of Athens, Greece Sneška Quaedvlieg – Mihailović, Secretary General, Europa Nostra, The Netherlands/Serbia Lydia Carras, Founder and Vice President, ELLINIKI ETAIRIA – Society for the Environment and Cultural Heritage (ELLET) Vesna Marjanović, Secretary General, Europa Nostra, Serbia.

Chair: Mary Adamopoulou, Journalist, TA NEA
